31 October Reminder: Halloween Curfew October 31, 2023 By Patrick Mangan General 0 Just a reminder, the Town, as they have every year, has enacted a Halloween curfew that applies to those 18 and under unless traveling to and from a school event, employment or medical emergency, or those in company of a parent, guardian or person in locus parentis. This starts at 9pm tonight and runs through 6am tomorrow. Town Board Resolution: That the Town Board of the Town of New Windsor, pursuant to the Resolution annexed hereto, hereby authorize the enactment of a curfew, which shall apply to all minors under the age of 18, except those traveling to or from bona fide employment, school activity or medical emergency, or those in the company of a parent, guardian, or person in locus parentis. This curfew shall commence at 9:00 p.m. on October 30, 2023 and be in effect, between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., on each of the following days October 30, 2023; October 31, 2023 and expire at 6:00 a.m. on November 1, 2023. Related Articles Town of New Windsor Halloween Curfew The Town of New Windsor will be enacting a Halloween curfew as follows - Friday, October 28: 9 PM to 6 AM Saturday, October 29: 9 PM to 6 AM Sunday, October 30: 9 PM to 6 AM Monday, October 31: 9 PM to 6 AM The curfew applies to all minors (persons under the age of 18), except those traveling to or from employment, school activity or medial emergency; or those in the company of a parent, guardian or person in locus parentis. During the aforementioned curfew, all minors shall refrain from congregating on public streets or on public or private property without the permission of the owner or person in control of such property. All minors shall be prohibited from trespassing upon property of the Town of New Windsor unless participating in an organized event of the Town of New Windsor. All persons shall be prohibited during the curfew period from being in possession, on any street or public place, of shaving cream, eggs, soap, rocks, spray paint, flammable or noxious chemicals, weapons of any kind, or any other items that could reasonably be used to cause vandalism or bodily injury. Any person knowingly violating these orders may be arrested and treated pursuant to the applicable laws of the State of New York. This is the normal curfew the town enacts each year. The curfew is in effect for minors under the age of 18 during the following days and times: Friday October 30th at 6pm until 6am on Saturday October 31st. Saturday October 31st at 6pm until 6am Sunday, November 1st. Sunday, November 1st at 6pm until 6am on Monday November 2nd. During these times anyone under the age of 18 will be required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Exceptions to this are for minors traveling to or from school, work or a medical emergency.
