Winter Storm Update - January 23

Supervisor Bedetti has declared a State of Emergency in anticipation of this weekend’s snowstorm. This is effective starting Sunday, January 25 at 12:01 AM through Tuesday, January 27 at 12:01 AM. During this period, travel on town roads is limited to emergency vehicles only. All non-emergency travel is prohibited. Please allow town employees and emergency responders to do their jobs safely.

From the New Windsor Police Department: Per town code, parking on town roads is prohibited once 2” of snow has fallen. Cars left on roads may be ticketed or towed. It is illegal to push or shovel snow onto town roads from private property.

The Town is operating a 24/7 warming center for anyone who may need assistance. Please go to the New Windsor Police Lobby to be taken to the warming center. The warming center will provide heat, Wi-Fi, water, and power for charging devices for any residents who may experience power outages. The warming center will remain open through the upcoming snowstorm and the extended period of cold weather expected the week of January 26.

If you cannot safely reach Town Hall and need assistance please contact: New Windsor Police Department (845) 565-7000 or Supervisor Bedetti (845) 629-1478

Residents should complete preparations as soon as possible, including refilling any necessary prescriptions. Continue to monitor weather updates and ensure you have essential household supplies on hand.
